The leak claims that the top-tier device will feature a whopping 200MP sensor for its telephoto lens, although the exact sensor is still unknown. This will purportedly give it an improved zoom that can go up to 100x, with Ice Universe assuming that it will offer a 3x optical zoom lens.
— ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) June 19, 2023 Not much else is known about the phone, but it is speculated that vivo will pack it with Qualcomm’s next flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is slated to be unveiled in October. The first brands that will be using the new Soc include Xiaomi, vivo, iQOO, OnePlus, and realme. Reports have suggested that Redmi, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, will also be using the Gen 3 in its upcoming K70 series. The vivo X100 series, the successor to the X90 lineup, will reportedly be made up of three devices, namely the vanilla version, the X100 Pro, and the X100 Pro Plus. For launch dates, the first two are said to be unveiled by the end of this year while the Pro Plus is expected to debut early next year. Both the lower-end variants have been reported to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, although vivo is apparently collaborating with the chip maker to optimise the chip’s performance for the series. For photography, it has been suggested that the X100 will sport a 50MP main sensor, a 32MP ultra-wide, and a 12MP lens with dual optical image stabilisation. Leakster Fixed Focus Digital recently released what they claim to be renders of the vivo X100 Pro Plus, showing a gigantic square rear camera island featuring four cameras. The black colour seems to also have a matte finish and up front, there is a centred punch-hole cutout. (Sources: Ice Universe/Twitter, Gizmochina)
