Expectedly, the company did not detail anything else about the upcoming smartphone apart from confirming its launch date. However, it did sneak in something that can easily be missed: a new Glyph layout for the Phone (2). While its arrangement is still identical to the one featured on the device’s predecessor, the oval lights in the centre and around the camera array now feature disconnected lines. It is unclear whether this is by design, or one of the available lighting effects. Also revealed in the teaser image is the “hero” animal for the Phone (2). Well, not that it really matters as they don’t usually represent the product in any way, apart from being prominently featured in Nothing’s promotional materials. But if you must know, the company has decided to go with an octopus this time around.

Meet Phone (2) on 11 July, 16:00 BST. Join us for the official launch on https://t.co/pLWW07l8G7 pic.twitter.com/WoSw0gLJOx — Nothing (@nothing) June 13, 2023 Just in case you missed our earlier reports, it has been previously confirmed by Pei himself that the Phone (2) will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 and a 4,700mAh battery. In regards to the former, the CEO elaborates that Nothing stands by its preferences for optimised hardware rather than newer ones, adding that the chosen chipset is “a proven processor.”  Besides that, a prior teaser revealed that the upcoming smartphone will feature an all-new light indicator on the side, as well as what appears to be a small physical switch on its back. It’s speculated that the former may be intended for notifications, while the latter could potentially be an alert slider – similar to the ones featured on iPhones and certain OnePlus handsets. In any case, we’ll definitely learn more about the Nothing Phone (2) during its official launch next month. It’s also worth noting that Pei previously mentioned that the new device will be getting a simultaneous global release, which means that it will also be available in Malaysia at the same time as other markets.
