To recap, the HONOR Magic 5 series consists of a standard model and a high-end Pro variant. Regardless of which, either version is equipped with Qualcomm’s current generation flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. As you’d expect, both are offered with different memory configurations, where the vanilla variant features 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage, while the Pro has 12 GB and 512 GB respectively. However, these are based on the European launch, and the configurations for the local release may differ from this. The standard HONOR Magic5 has a 6.73-inch OLED LTPO display with a resolution of 2688 x 1224 pixels, 120 Hz Smart Refresh Rate, 2160 Hz PWM dimming rate, and curved edges. Its Pro sibling, on the other hand, comes with a slightly larger 6.81-inch OLED LTPO curved display that has a resolution of 2848 x 1312 pixels, 120 Hz Smart Refresh Rate capability, and 2160 Hz PWM dimming rate. As for imaging, the former’s tri-camera system packs a 54 MP f/1.9 primary camera, a 50 MP f/2.0 ultra-wide, and a 32 MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom capabilities. Meanwhile, the Pro model’s rear camera setup consists of triple 50 MP sensors for its primary, ultra-wide, and telephoto. The latter of which features 3.5x optical and 100x digital zoom capabilities. In front, both devices feature a 12MP selfie camera, though only the version on the high-end sibling features a 3D depth sensor. Battery-wise, the Magic5 duo come with the same 5,100 mAh capacity, which supports 66 W fast charging via USB-C. Unfortunately, neither model features wireless charging capability. Next up, we have the HONOR Magic Vs foldable smartphone. For display, the device sports a 7.9-inch 90Hz OLED display with 2272 x 1984 pixel resolution when unfolded, while on the outside is a secondary 6.45-inch 120Hz OLED cover screen with 2560 x 1080 resolution. Internally, it packs a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, along with up to 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 66 W fast charging support via USB-C. Like its bar phone cousins, on the back of the Magic Vs is a triple camera module, which features a 54MP f/1.9 primary camera, 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide/macro camera, and 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom capability. Meanwhile, it also comes with a 16MP f/2.45 selfie camera in front. As mentioned earlier, HONOR’s dual flagship launch is slated to happen on 6 April 2023 at 2:30 pm, which will be broadcasted live via its official website and social media channels. Naturally, pricing and expected dates of availability for both line-ups will only be revealed by then. (Source: HONOR Malaysia [official website])
